Coming up in April there will be a change to the Adaptive Yoga class. We will be shifting to Wednesday mornings, 11-12pm, at Penticton Recreation meeting room 3. It will also be a weekly class April through May!
Yoga is an adaptable practice that can be modified to enhance the experience of the postures all while supporting the differences in flexibility, mobility and energy level in each student. Using breath, gentle movement, props and detailed instruction, we will explore together the physical and mental benefits of yoga. You are invited to start where you are and to honour your body for both its strengths and its limitations. All of our abilities may be different from day to day, even hour to hour. By bringing awareness to how we feel within the poses we will all create a practice that honours our body and mind, right where we are in that moment. It is about adapting the practice to your body, rather than compromising your body to fit into the practice. Teaching yoga is a collaborative and creative process, I look forward to us practicing together.
There is no need to pre-register for this class. Drop-in is $5. Class is for those living with MS and chronic conditions that make attending traditional yoga classes a challenge. Be in touch if you'd like to know more.
