February 2, 2017

It is one month into 2017. I was reflecting today on the many changes that occurred in January and marvelling at how quickly this month has passed.

In January, I had the opportunity to teach 50 classes and one workshop. I have met a lot of new students teaching from We...

I had set the intention to accept that which I resist. I was thinking about this concept of being open to new things, to new experiences. Then, a big thing happened, and I have suddenly found myself completely self-employed.

This is a good thing. I see that and was rea...

I have always been someone who uses the year end to reflect on how far I have come and to set goals for where I want to go. These used to be resolutions which invariably I would excel at for a short period of time before interest waned or I missed a day and therefore a...

I had an experience yesterday that challenged me. It started with me being tired and a bit exhausted emotionally, which meant that everything was on the surface. I had some judgements and preconceived ideas about what I was going to experience and I worked hard at tryi...

I am participating in a challenge geared towards energizing my yoga teaching. Today was the first day of the challenge, and the question asked was about branding. What is your yoga brand? What do you stand for?

Compassionate flow, restorative and Kripalu yoga guide.

I am passionate about teaching, leading, and supporting others in their practice. Each time I arrive on my mat I find strength in the vulnerability of my breath and my movement. When a fellow practioner chooses to share their practice with me, allowing me to guide them and support them, I feel honoured and humbled.

I do not strive to be a guru on the mat, or to pretend to have it all together or that I have the answers. This is my practice as well. But as a guide I lead a safe, gentle, intuitive practice so that the students learn to connect with their inner wisdom, the inner guru to enhance their practice by listening to the messages from their body. To find compassion and curiousity for what is arriving with them on the mat that day.

Each day on my mat I find a new aspect of the Self to work with. I hope you join me to explore your own physical, mental, spiritual and emotional wisdom.
