I have been promoting upcoming classes and workshops in Chakra Yoga and often have people ask me what exactly this is. Essentially the 30 second elevator talk is that Chakra yoga focuses breath work (pranayama) and postures (asana) to stimulate energy and sensation in...

As a restorative, compassionate flow and slow hold sort of instructor I rely heavily on props in my own practice. There are limitations that my body has that need the assistance of props in order to find a stillness and an opening. I used to believe that props meant th...

I taught my first outdoor class today. Driving up to Thornhaven Winery in Summerland, I felt nerves. Nerves about being in full sun on a day where it was supposed to go from 24 to 27 degrees between 9 and 10am. Nerves about how my voice would carry, how I could hold s...

When I completed my yoga teacher training in June 2015, I started getting rid of my nerves by offering classes to friends in my livingroom. Being able to lead people I knew, in my own space, was a fantastic was to get rid of the jitters and learn a bit more about myse...

I am a pet person. I grew up with cats, as many as seven at one point, and even had three bearded dragons for a while. I had always had a pet, until I met my partner who helped to get me out of my comfort zone and inspired a few years of travelling. Once we landed in...

Compassionate flow, restorative and Kripalu yoga guide.

I am passionate about teaching, leading, and supporting others in their practice. Each time I arrive on my mat I find strength in the vulnerability of my breath and my movement. When a fellow practioner chooses to share their practice with me, allowing me to guide them and support them, I feel honoured and humbled.

I do not strive to be a guru on the mat, or to pretend to have it all together or that I have the answers. This is my practice as well. But as a guide I lead a safe, gentle, intuitive practice so that the students learn to connect with their inner wisdom, the inner guru to enhance their practice by listening to the messages from their body. To find compassion and curiousity for what is arriving with them on the mat that day.

Each day on my mat I find a new aspect of the Self to work with. I hope you join me to explore your own physical, mental, spiritual and emotional wisdom.
